Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - a Canadian and American artist and singer. Her albums span over 20 years. DiFranco describes her music as folk-rock or alternative, but it also contains influences such as punk, hip-hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco is widely recognized as a feminist icon and Grammy award-winning musician is thought to be to be the first founder of DIY music. It was one of the very first musicians to start the label she created in the year 1990. DiFranco was a born on the 23rd of September 1970 in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Dante Americo DiFranco. Her father is Italian origin, while her mother is from Montreal. Her song 32 Flavors was composed by her and sung by Ani. This song was released on DiFranco's 1995 sixth album Not a Pretty Girl. This song appears on the film's soundtrack the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was revealed that she was planning to hold the three-day workshop on an Louisiana slave plantation. The workshop was cancelled, however many (including the author of this article) did not show any remorse. DiFranco issued another apology several days later. The singer is well-known for her Little Folksinger songs, however she's collaborated with many music genres, that range from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. The singer lives in New Orleans. Ani DiFranco is married to Kristen Ford. Within 14 months, Ani DiFranco had already written her own songs. They were performed in bars and in coffee shops all through her teens. DiFranco was enrolled in Buffalo State College when she was just 16 and a half years old. She graduated the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts in the year she was 16.
