As Tam her character, she was forced into government experiments that required her to be prepared to become the perfect assassin. Tam had difficulty learning to manage her emotions as a result. Glau demonstrated her fighting ability as well as her acting abilities in Firefly. Being learning to be an assassin allowed Glau to make the most of her athletic abilities.
